Lampton School Newsletter: Week 35 2025-26
Posted on Jun 15th 2026Monday 15th June 2026
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
Welcome to our newsletter for the ninth week of the Summer Term 2026. This week is week A with whole school assemblies taking place. These are being led by Ms Leregle (Assistant Headteacher) and focus on our character trait of kindness.
The public examinations continue for students in ex year 13 and ex year 11 with Tuesday marking the end of their GCSE examinations. Their last assembly as a year group took place after Monday’s examination and students were able to begin their summer break. We look forward to celebrating with them at their prom on Tuesday 30th June and sharing in their success at their results’ day on Thursday 20th August. Year 13 though, still have a few more days to go.
Last week saw a successful Futures Day for the new year 13 cohort which launched the UCAS process and saw visitors from a number of different industry backgrounds. As always, it was good to welcome ex Lampton students and good to hear of their success as alumni of the school.
On Tuesday we look forward to welcoming new year 10 students and their families for their celebration event, which is also a good opportunity to look ahead to the GCSE courses which they have started.
An advanced notice that our annual sponsored walk takes place on Wednesday 15th July and this year is in aid of Steps2Recovery. Steps2Recovery is a charity with the aim of providing help for ex-offenders caught in the merry go round of short prison sentences as a result of drug and alcohol addiction and its consequences, including homelessness and family breakdown. Students have studied this charity and the issues it tackles in their PSHE lessons.

Thank a Teacher
On the 17th June, National #ThankaTeacherDay is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the teachers and support staff who make a difference every day. There is still time to get involved and send a free thank you card to someone working in a school, college or early years setting. Join thousands of people saying thank you to the incredible education staff who support children and young people every day at thankateacher.co.uk

Clubs' Timetable
The enrichment offer for the rest of the summer term is being shared with students this week in tutor time. Please encourage your child to participate in a club at lunch time and/or after school. The timetable is shared on your child’s Google Classroom.
Student Success at Big Bang Fair
On Tuesday 9th June, four of our students, Rizane, Season, Alisha and Ikjot attended the Big Bang Fair at the NEC Birmingham to showcase their STEM project as finalists in the competition. Our students were shortlisted from nearly 200 secondary school students from across the UK.
The project was to measure the body’s natural signals such as anxiety, sweat, fatigue and tremors, prompting the user to take necessary action to calm down. The aim was to prove that a low-cost device can be created to carry out the same functions as hospital equipment. The students were inspired by the need to enable access to medical equipment for people in low income countries. At the fair they presented their exciting project to a number of scientists and engineers, as well as to Julia Lopez MP, the Shadow Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology.
The day ended with the announcement of the winners for all categories, and we are extremely proud that our students won the Junior Technology Award, supported by Siemens, one of the core prizes. Congratulations to our students who have worked incredibly hard to earn this prestigious award.
