We understand that the transition from primary to secondary school is a crucial staging point in a students' life, and so work closely with our new pupils, new parents and carers, and primary schools to ensure that our new Year 7 students are best supported. 

Through the primary transition process, we aim to ensure that:

  • As a school we know students as individuals, and understand their academic, social and emotional development so our level of support and challenge can be matched to their needs.

  • New pupils feel confident about the start to their secondary schooling: they know the values of the school, the key policies and routines and so know what to expect in September.

  • New parents and carers feel confident about sending their child to the school. Any administrative issues are taken care of in advance of September to ensure a smooth and successful start.


Enrolment forms:

On Monday 17th May 2021 parents and carers will be emailed with a link to form to submit important information, and to agree to important school policies. If you have not received this email, or have any difficulties with the form, please email our Admissions Officer, Anju Dhir


Enrolment meeting:

The enrolment meeting is an important opportunity to get to know you and your child, and for you to ask any questions about the school in advance of the new academic year. For students starting in September 2021, these meetings will take place on Wednesday 23rd June and Thursday 24th June. We expect that these meetings will take place in person at the school. Meetings will be arranged with appointment times - and there will be an opportunity to express a preference on the time and day as part of the enrolment form.

Primary transfer day and parents' information evening:

Due to the pandemic, in common with other Hounslow secondary schools the main primary transfer day event has been cancelled. However, we will be hosting our new parent / carer information evening, this will be available to view on this page from 7pm on Tuesday 6th July. This document also contains practical information for parents and carers of students starting at Lampton.


Summer school:

From Monday 23rd - Friday 27th August, we will be running a summer school for all our new Year 7 students. This will be an exciting way to start students' school careers - with a mix of both learning and enrichment activities. The summer school will be led by Lampton staff, and will provide a great opportunity for our new students to make new friends, and feel relaxed and confident in advance of the formal start to the term. We request that parents / carers agree to their child's attendance in the enrolment meeting on Wednesday 23rd & Thursday 24th June.
