Primary Transition

We understand that the transition from primary to secondary school is a crucial staging point in a students' life, and so work closely with our new pupils, new parents and carers, and primary schools to ensure that our new Year 7 students are best supported.

Through the primary transition process, we aim to ensure that:

  • As a school we know students as individuals, and understand their academic, social and emotional development so our level of support and challenge can be matched to their needs.

  • New pupils feel confident about the start to their secondary schooling: they know the values of the school, the key policies and routines and so know what to expect in September.

  • New parents and carers feel confident about sending their child to the school. Any administrative issues are taken care of in advance of September to ensure a smooth and successful start.

The following information relates to the primary transition process for September 2024:

Enrolment forms:

On Tuesday 30th April 2024 parents and carers will be emailed with a link to form to submit important information, and to agree to key school policies. If you have not received this email, or have any difficulties with the form, please email our Admissions Officer, Anju Dhir adhir@lampton.org.uk.

Enrolment meeting:

The enrolment meeting is an important opportunity to get to know you and your child, and for you to ask any questions about the school in advance of the new academic year. For students starting in September 2024, these will be held on Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd May. Meetings will be arranged with appointment times - and there will be an opportunity to express a preference on the time and day as part of the enrolment form.

Primary transfer day and parents' information evening:

In common with other Hounslow schools, we will be hosting our primary transition day on Tuesday 2nd July 2024. This is a very important day for your child, as it enables them to sample secondary school lessons, meet their new tutor group for form tutor. We hope that your child will leave us at the end of the day feeling confident and excited about their transition to Year 7. In the evening, we invite all new parents and carers to join us for our New Parents' Information Evening. This is an important event, and it is our expectation that all parents and carers of students starting in September 2024 will join us.
