Lampton School Academy Trust Admissions Consultation 2019
The School Governors’ Admissions Committee of Lampton School Academy Trust (Admission Authority) have consulted the local community on our admissions arrangements for the academic year 2021 – 22 and onwards. The consultation ran from Monday 11th November 2019 until Monday January 6th 2020. We would like to thank the community for their responses. The feedback on the admissions arrangements was considered by the School Governors’ Admissions Committee of Lampton School Academy Trust (Admission Authority) on Tuesday 7th January 2020 and the arrangements for the academic year 2021-22 were determined. The determined arrangements are in the documents section below along with current and previous years arrangements.
The arrangements have been sent to the Local Authority and are published here on the school website in advance of the 15th March 2020 deadline.
The process of transferring between primary and secondary school begins in the Autumn Term preceding the year of transition.
To help facilitate this process, parents and carers should use the Primary Transfer book and application form issued to their child.
For admissions in September 2020 appeals will be administered by Lampton School Academy Trust.

Open evenings and mornings
If you are applying for a place for your child, you are expected to attend either our Open Evening or one of our Open Mornings.
We hold an Open Evening each Autumn Term when parents, carers and children visit our site and receive a copy of our prospectus. This event includes an introduction from our headteacher, a tour of our facilities and a chance to speak to our staff.
We also run Open Mornings where parents, carers and their children meet our senior staff and have a tour of the school in session.
Offered a place
When offered a place, you and your child will be invited to an interview with a member of staff to hear more about Lampton and to discuss how we can work together to ensure the best possible education for your child. These interviews are held in the week before the May half-term. You will be sent an appointment time by letter.
Primary Transfer Day
We also hold an annual Primary Transfer day on the first Tuesday of July, when your child meets his/her new form tutor and fellow classmates, and has a chance to experience secondary school life. Parents and carers are invited to attend a meeting with the Head of Year, Headteacher and the Chair of Governors in the evening.
Primary school visits
In the Summer Term your child’s Head of Year will visit them in their primary school and meet their class teacher. We work with their primary school to make sure that we place your child in an appropriate, mixed ability tutor group. This helps ensure that they settle well into Year 7. Students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) are also visited by a member of our Supportive Education Department. Students who need most support are visited by a member of the Learning Mentor team as well.
