Lampton School Newsletter: Week 27 2025-26

Monday 13th April 2026

Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

Welcome to our newsletter for the first week of the summer term 2026. It is week A so whole school assemblies are taking place; these are being led by Ms Hussan (Assistant Headteacher).

I trust that you all had a relaxing break and that students in year 11 and year 13 used their time wisely to prepare for the upcoming public examinations which begin in earnest in just a few weeks’ time on Tuesday 5th May. The full exam timetable is available on the school website and your child will have received a copy for their own examinations. It is imperative that students are on time to all examinations and have the required equipment for each paper. Teachers will have briefed students extensively on these. There will also be pre-exam briefings and students will receive details about these. Again, attendance at these is essential. Please support your child with their attendance, punctuality and organisation in the run up to and duration of the exams.

Starting tomorrow, Tuesday 14th April, students in years 7, 8 and 9 will be undertaking summative examinations in their core subjects. The results of these will be used to help decide student groupings for the new academic year which starts after half-term on 1st June.

Our attendance focus continues with students in all year groups. A reminder that our target for every student is 96%. We are continuing to support students whose attendance is between 90 and 95%. This is to ensure that they reach the whole school target. Just a few absences across the year can have a significant impact on your child’s attendance figure, so please ensure that they are in school every day and on time.

Please see below the dates of key events happening in school this half-term:
