Lampton School Newsletter: Week 25 2025-26
Posted on Mar 16th 2026Monday 16th March 2026
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
Welcome to our newsletter for the tenth week of the spring term 2026. It is week B so year assemblies are taking place. As these are the last ones for the Spring term they are focusing on praise.
In tutor period, conversations about attendance will continue this week, focusing on students whose attendance is between 90-95%. If your child is in this category you will have received an email today giving you their attendance figure. As a reminder, our target for every student is 96% attendance.
We look forward to welcoming year 11 and their parents for their last parents’ evening on Thursday 26th March from 16.00-19.00pm. It is imperative that all attend so that they can receive feedback before the examinations start on 5th May.
The spring term ends for students in all year groups on Friday 27th March at 12.30pm. There will be lessons as usual, during periods 1 -3 on that day. The Summer Term begins on Monday 13th April with registration at 10.00 and then lessons as usual from period 2. It will be week A.
Key dates:
| Thursday 26th March | Year 11 parents' evening: 16.00-19.00 |
| Friday 27th March | Term ends at 12.30pm for students |
With best wishes for the week ahead,
Stephen Davis
Headteacher
Finding out more about how well your child is doing at school
Are you interested in finding out more about how well your child is doing at Lampton School? We are launching the MCAS portal and app in the summer term. Parents and carers can use these to find out their child’s attendance, timetable and behaviour information. We will trial the MCAS portal and app before we launch it to parents of pupils in year 8. Would you like to trial it before we launch it to parents of pupils in year 8? If you would please email aleggett@lampton.org.uk with your name and your child’s name and tutor group. We will be trialling it with the first 30 parents to email. Below is an image of what the MCAS portal looks like.

Year 11 Parents’ Evening – 26th March 2026
Year 11 parents’ evening is on 26th March starting at 16.00.
Please book appointments online to see your child’s teachers using SchoolCloud. Your login details to book appointments have already been sent to you. Please email sbasu@lampton.org.uk if you have not received them.

Key Stage 3 Assessments and Revision
In April, students in years 7 to 9 will be completing key stage 3 assessments in their core subjects. These assessments help teachers check how securely students have learnt the curriculum and identify any areas that need further support. All subjects assess knowledge taught in lessons, and students are expected to complete revision in advance.
In school, students are being taught how to revise effectively using a simple Plan → Do → Review approach, which focusses on short, focused revision and self-quizzing rather than re-reading notes.
Further information about key stage 3 assessments and how parents can support revision at home is available here. Below is the timetable for the key stage 3 assessments in core subjects

Uniform reminders
- Blazers are to be worn at all times. They may be removed in lessons with the teacher’s permission. If a student is not wearing their blazer and has their blazer in their bag, a community service detention will be issued.
- Students must not wear hoods indoors. This includes the canteen.
- Ankle socks of any colour are not permitted. Students will be sent to Student Services to remove them and a community service detention will be issued.
