Lampton School Newsletter: Week 20 2025-26

Posted on Feb 2nd 2026

Monday 2nd February 2026

Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

Welcome to our newsletter for the fifth week of the spring term 2026. It is week A, so whole school assemblies are taking place. These are being led by Dr Branch, of our science department, focusing on the Artemis II launch and lunar mission, including Dr Branch’s own work with the European Space Agency. A real privilege for us all to hear first-hand about the world of space research and missions.

Last week we had a packed audience for the year 8 celebration evening and we look forward to the same this Tuesday with the event for year 7. Proceedings begin at 16.00 in the main hall. On Thursday we look forward to welcoming year 10 students and their families for their parents’ evening which begins at 16.00 in the sixth form atrium.

For year 11 next Monday, 9th February, is a key date as it is the first day of their core mock exams. It is essential that students prepare fully for these, are equipped and punctual. This is the final rehearsal for the real exams in the summer.

Finally, the last day of this half-term Friday 13th February is our annual remote learning day. The majority of students in years 7 to 13 will be working remotely that day. Please see last week’s newsletter for more details. Monday 23rd February, the first day after the half-term break will be an INSET day with the school closed to students in all year groups.

Key dates:

Monday 9th February Year 11 mock exams for core subjects begin
Thursday 12th February Year 13 parents' evening: 16.00-19.00
Friday 13th February Remote Learning Day
Monday 16th February - Friday 20th February Half term
Monday 23rd February INSET Day
Tuesday 24th February School starts for students in all year groups at 8.40am

With best wishes for the week ahead,

Stephen Davis

Parent Trustee Vacancy

We have a vacancy for one parent to join the school’s trust board (governing body). If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact the Headteacher’s personal assistant Rina Sehgal, who can provide you with more information about the role.

Adding Lunch Credit to ParentPay

Please ensure your child has sufficient funds to buy food in the dining hall if they need to, as it is not practical to try to resolve this during the school day. On ParentPay you can set up a recurring top-up for when credit dips below an amount you decide. If you would like any support with ParentPay please contact Ms Basu: sbasu@lampton.org.uk

Year 10 Parents’ Evening - 05 February 2026

We look forward to meeting the parents of year 10 pupils on Thursday. We consider it vital that all parents attend parents' evening. Please check your emails for a schedule of appointments.

Please arrive five minutes before your first appointment and sign in; you will be given a pack containing your child’s report and other important information. Please keep to the appointment times - this helps to ensure the efficient running of the evening for all parents. All students should be in full school uniform.

Year 13 Parents’ Evening – 12 February 2026

Year 13 parents’ evening is on 12 February 2026 starting at 16.00. Please book appointments online to see your child’s teachers using SchoolCloud.
