Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

Welcome to our newsletter for the third week of the Spring Term 2026. It is week A, with year whole assemblies taking place. These are being led by Mr Pavey (Assistant Headteacher) focusing on lessons we can learn from Greek mythology.

Tuesday 20th January sees the beginning of the GCSE options process for our year 9 students. Options Evening begins at 16.00 with a presentation from myself and Ms Kapoor (Assistant Headteacher) in the hall and then a chance to view subject displays and ask staff questions in the sixth form atrium. The timelines and process for the option choices will be outlined, so it is vital that all students attend with a family member.

For students in year 13 the UCAS university application deadline passed last week. Already we have students who submitted early applications for Oxbridge, medicine and dentistry receiving offers. We wish all students who have applied the best of luck. For year 13 these last few months are crucial and not one minute of time in school can be missed or wasted!

For year 11 their second round of pre-public exams in the core subjects are on the horizon. Not a minute can be missed or wasted of school time between now and the public examinations in May.

Please see below for key upcoming dates. Please note that Friday 13th February is a remote learning day for student. Most students will not be required to be on-site on that day. Details about arrangements for this day will be issued shortly. Monday 23rd February, which is after the half-term holiday, is an INSET Day with school closed for all students.

MyChildAtSchool App

At Lampton we are committed to sharing as much information as possible about pupils’ performance with their parents. This is because we believe that this helps parents to know and understand more about their child’s attendance, behaviour and attainment. This is important so that parents can play an active role in supporting their child whilst they are at school. We previously shared this information with parents via the SIMS Parent app. Since we have transferred to Bromcom for our management information system, we have not been able to share as much information with parents as we would like. We would like to change this.

We will therefore begin the trial of the MyChildAtSchool app and portal with parents from the beginning of the summer term. This trial will help us to make sure that the app and portal are set up correctly and that we have a good system in place to share login details and information about how to use the app and portal.

We will inform parents about how the trial goes and the best way to sign up to the MyChildAtSchool app and portal in the summer term.
