Lampton School Newsletter: Week 12 2025-26
Posted on Nov 24th 2025Monday 24th November 2025
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
Welcome to our newsletter for the twelfth week of the Autumn Term 2025. It is week B, so year assemblies are taking place.
I would like to correct some very serious misinformation which was published on MyLondon and local Facebook pages regarding an incident which was alleged to have taken place outside of the school on Friday 21st November at around 15.00. Myself and other staff were on duty at the time so I can confirm that no such incident took place in the alleyways or in the immediate vicinity of Lampton School at that time and all students dispersed safely at the end of the day. Over the weekend the school contacted MyLondon to correct this error. As a reminder, the school has staff on duty at the front gates every morning from 08.00- 09.10 and in the afternoon from 15.00-15.30, including two members of senior staff who walk down Lampton Avenue and monitor the parade of shops and 120 bus stop on Lampton Road. School duty staff can be easily identified via their Hi-Viz jackets and school identification badges. If you have concerns during these times, please do speak to the duty staff. It assists the school if students go home immediately after school and do not congregate in the area, please support us by reminding your child/children of this expectation.
In more positive news, it was a pleasure to welcome so many students and their families to last Tuesday’s sixth form open evening. Applications are now open via the sixth form page on our website. My thanks to Ms Vowles (Director of Sixth Form), the sixth form team and all staff for their hard work that evening. We look forward to welcoming a large number of students back to our sixth form in September 2026!
As we move towards the end of this long term, a reminder of the continued importance of full attendance at school. I am pleased to report that our whole school attendance remains above national and local averages. Later this week I am meeting with a group of year 7 students whose attendance has shown significant improvement. In two weeks’ time our praise assemblies for the term will be held and as well as the much coveted subject praise badges we are introducing badges for attendance too. These will not only be for attendance in excess of our 96% target for all students, but also for those who have shown the most improvement in attendance and punctuality over the course of this term.
A reminder that the school will be closed for all staff and students on Friday 28th November and Monday 1st December. School starts at the normal time with registration on Tuesday 2nd December.
Key dates for the remainder of this half-term:
| Friday 28th November | School closed: wellbeing day 3 |
| Monday 1st December | School closed: wellbeing day 4 |
| Thursday 4th December | Year 9 parents’ evening: 16.00 - 19.00 |
