Lampton School Newsletter: Week 14 2025-26
Posted on Dec 8th 2025Monday 8th December 2025
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
Welcome to our newsletter for the fourteenth week of the autumn term 2025. It is week B, so year assemblies are taking place. As is customary, these are the year group praise assemblies and will see the awarding of the much-coveted subject praise badges to students. This term we will be awarding attendance badges too. These will not only reward excellent attendance and punctuality, but will also reward those students who have made excellent improvements in this area. Last week whole school assemblies took place. These were led by Ms Kapoor (Assistant Headteacher) and focussed on our language for learning policy.
It was good to see excellent attendance at year 9’s parents’ evening last Thursday and also to receive positive feedback to the new format we have adopted to sharing attainment and progress via the school reports. This week we look forward to excellent attendance at the year 11 event on Thursday.
Tomorrow (Tuesday) sees our winter performing arts showcase taking place with over 90 students performing. The event begins at 16.00 and we look forward to welcoming parents, carers and students to the event.
Year 10 begin their pre-public examinations (PPEs) at the end of this week with the written papers beginning in earnest in the Sports Hall next Monday. The exam timetable has been issued to all students and can also be found on the website. It is essential that students are fully prepared for these crucial assessments. Year 12 have their PPEs starting on Monday 5th January.
I hope you found the wellbeing weekend supportive at this stage in the term. We have two weeks to go until term ends on 19th December. During this time full attendance is required, please remember that term-time leave cannot be authorised and missing school has a negative impact on your child/children's academic performance. The school follows the curriculum right the way through until 12.30pm on Friday 19th December, so every minute in school counts and no time can be lost.
Key dates for the remainder of this half-term:
| Thursday 11th December | Year 11 parents’ evening: 16.00 - 19.00 |
| Monday 15th December | Year 10 pre-public exams commence |
| Friday 19th December | Term ends: students dismissed at 12.30 |
A reminder that the Spring Term begins on Monday 5th January with Registration at 10.00am for students.
With best wishes for the week ahead.

You Can Do Day
On Friday 5th December 2025, we held our You Can Do Day, a dynamic careers morning for our year 11 students. The event followed a speed-dating style format, giving students the chance to meet a wide range of professionals from diverse careers and industries. Our aim was simple: to inspire, raise aspirations, challenge stereotypes, and open our students’ eyes to opportunities they may not have considered before.
Thanks to all the incredible professionals who joined us, the morning was truly memorable. Their presence, honesty, and willingness to share their expertise made a significant impact. Students greatly valued the insights they offered and left the event feeling motivated, informed, and excited about the world of work.
We were delighted to receive so much positive feedback, students continued discussing their conversations with peers and teachers long after the event ended. We look forward to organising these opportunities soon.
