Lampton School Newsletter: Week 11 2025-26
Posted on Nov 17th 2025Monday 17th November 2025
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
Welcome to our newsletter for the eleventh week of the Autumn Term 2025. It is week A, so whole school assemblies are taking place. These are being led by Mr Pavey (assistant headteacher) and are focusing on the theme of what makes success.
Tomorrow evening, Tuesday 18th November, sees our annual sixth form open evening taking place. The event runs from 17.00-19.00, starting in the main hall and then in the sixth form atrium. We are justifiably proud of our sixth form for the contribution it makes to our whole school, our strong track record of university admission and the consistently high levels of achievement over many years. If your child is in year 11 we expect to see you at the event.
Congratulations to colleagues in our mathematics department. The school has been successful in our application to become a national White Rose Champion School. This involves: Co-collaborating on blogs or short features that highlight how our teachers have made White Rose work for our learners. Social media spotlights on innovative classroom practice or impact stories from our maths team. Potentially welcoming visiting teachers who would love to learn from our expertise. Opportunities to co-create CPD content with our specialists or to prepare a short segment for our quarterly forums to share good practice. Providing us with feedback and insight on current and future resources to help shape developments. A shout out to Ms Shah (subject leader of mathematics) and the whole team for this well-deserved accolade! Congratulations also to the five students who have become part of the Hounslow Youth Council. My thanks to Mr McNamara (subject leader of PSHE) for supporting students with their applications.

Holiday vouchers
You should have been sent vouchers to use in holiday period if you are entitled to FSM (free school meals). These entitle you to book holiday clubs for free. Please look at this link for how to do this. These holiday clubs support your child to develop key skills for the future and expose them to different activities.
Behaviour and Safeguarding
Our mobile phone policy is on the website and can be found here. For pupils in year 7 there is a complete ban on smart watches and smart phones. Any smart phones that are found will be kept until the end of the half term. If your child is in years 8 to 13 and we can see or hear their phone it will be confiscated for 5 working days. We remind students to have their phone switched off and, in their bags, while in school. Please provide your child with a non-smart phone if they are in year 7. We recommend that pupils limit their time using a device. Research highlights the negative impacts of screen time on mental health and well-being. Please click here for more information on how to keep your child safe whilst they are online.
