Lampton School Newsletter: Week 9 2025-26

Tuesday 4th November 2025

Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

Welcome to our newsletter for the ninth week of the Autumn Term 2025. I trust that you all had a relaxing and enjoyable half-term break.

It’s week A so our whole school assemblies are taking place. These are on the theme of ‘remembrance’ and are being led by Ms Vowles (Assistant Headteacher and Director of Sixth Form).

Year 13 and year 11 completed the first round of their pre-public exams before the half-term break and year 8 and year 9 completed examinations in their core subjects too. Results and feedback from these assessments will be shared with students in class over the coming weeks. It is important that all students take on board this feedback and implement strategies to improve their performance. For year 13 the early entry UCAS deadline has passed and a large number of our students have applied for Oxbridge, medicine and dentistry courses for autumn 2026. Other members of year 13 are working towards the final UCAS deadline in January 2026. We wish them every success

A reminder that our new protocol for mobile phones remains in place and thank you for your support with its implementation over the last half-term. As the weather becomes cooler, please ensure that your child wears a school coat that is plain black. This also applies to scarves which should be neck scarves rather than shawls. Students with the latter will have these confiscated and returned at the end of term.

Please refer to this page on our website if you wish to contact a member of staff. The page outlines the protocol for communication between home and school. I would like to reiterate that staff are not available to be seen unless an appointment has been made in advance. Our reception staff will reinforce this to parents/carers who arrive in school without an appointment and you will be asked to make an appointment to return at a suitable time.
