Lampton School Newsletter: Week 8 2025-26

Monday 27th October 2025

Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

Welcome to our final newsletter of this half-term.

Last week, year assemblies took place. Part of these assemblies focussed on celebrating students’ attendance with a number of prizes being awarded in each year group. These range from prizes for 100% attendance, over 96% and most improved attendance over the half-term. As I say each week, the best way to ensure that your child/children are successful in school is to make sure that they are here punctually every day. Congratulations to our prize winners! The assemblies have also focused on the celebration of Diwali.

If you wish to contact a member of staff at our school, please refer to this page on our website which outlines the protocol for communication between home and school. I would like to reiterate that staff are not available to be seen unless an appointment has been made in advance. Our reception staff will reinforce this to parents/carers who arrive in school without an appointment and you will be asked to make an appointment and to return at a suitable time.

Last week year 11 pre-public examinations took place and year 10 pre-public examinations will take place at the end of the autumn term.

With best wishes for the half-term break and a Happy Diwali to all those members of our school community celebrating at this time. We return on Tuesday 4th November at the usual time of 8:40am.

You Can Do Day

Calling all Lampton families and friends! We are hosting a careers event called You Can Do Day on Friday 5th December 2025 and need your help!

We aim to build our student's knowledge of a wide range of careers. Students will take part in a number of 5-minute interviews with professionals from different industries during which they will have the opportunity to ask questions.

We are looking to inspire our students, raise aspirations, reduce stereotypes and open students’ eyes to careers that they might not have thought about. Students especially value hearing from local people with connections to the school, as it makes it seem real that they really could take that career path.

We are therefore looking for people to volunteer to meet our students and answer their questions. If you would like to volunteer, please email our careers co-ordinator Kal Virdi kvirdi@lampton.org.uk to register your interest. There are two sessions: the first is from 09.10-11.10, and second is from 11.10-13.10. We would really appreciate it if you could sign up for one or two of the sessions.
