Monday 29 September 2025

Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

Welcome to our newsletter for the fifth week of the Autumn Term 2025.

It’s Week A so whole school assemblies are taking place. These are being led by Mr Bates (Deputy Headteacher) on the theme of the United Kingdom’s recognition of Palestinian statehood.

We had an excellent turnout for our open evening last week and my thanks to all students who acted as guides or departmental helpers. They were great ambassadors for Lampton School. Our next open evening is for the sixth form on Tuesday 18th November.

As the weather is becoming more autumnal in nature, a reminder that outdoor coats must be plain black as must scarves. Please ensure that your child’s uniform is compliant with our expectations. A reminder too that all students must have their ID for school every day as part of the required uniform. This speeds up the time they have to wait to be served in the canteen significantly.

Formal examinations for years 8 and 9 continue this week, moving towards examinations in the core subjects in the Hall. These examinations provide an opportunity to review learning and develop the necessary skills of memorisation and knowledge recall which are so significant for success at GCSE and beyond. Please support your child with their revision at home and use the knowledge organisers which can be found for each subject on our website.

For year 13 and year 11 we begin already to look towards the summer’s public examinations with their first round of pre-public examinations (PPEs) taking place in just a few weeks:

Year 13 PPEs 10th - 17th October
Year 11 PPE 17th - 23rd October

These examinations provide a crucial check on students’ performance and preparation for the summer’s examinations. Serious preparation is essential.

This week during tutor period, attendance conversations between tutors and students will take place, reviewing patterns since we returned to school in September. A reminder that our target for all students is at least 96% attendance. Please support your child to achieve this target. Excellent attendance and punctuality are key drivers for success.

With best wishes for the week ahead,

Stephen Davis

Headteacher

Have your say on the future of school places in Hounslow

London Borough of Hounslow (LBH) is now inviting parents, carers, school staff, and residents to help shape the upcoming school organisation plan. LBH say this information will help them manage school places effectively and maintain family choice and access to excellent local schools.

Recent trends show a decline in pupil numbers, resulting in more empty places across schools in Hounslow. This has a direct impact on school funding, resources, and ultimately, the quality of education provided.

To address these challenges and ensure a strong, sustainable education system, LBH is launching a consultation on the future school organisation plan. Feedback received will directly influence the plan, the governance and the management of school places, funding, and educational planning in Hounslow.

To support this process, LBH is hosting a series of drop-in sessions where the community can ask questions and share their views. This take place on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, 7 October – Brentford Family Hub, TW8 0BJ
  • Tuesday, 14 October – Lampton Family Hub, TW3 4JG
  • Tuesday, 21 October – Alf King Family Hub, TW13 5AF
  • Tuesday, 4 November – Beavers Children’s Centre, TW4 7NW

The consultation is available online at: https://talk.hounslow.gov.uk/school-spaces.  Paper copies can also be collected from Hounslow House upon request.
