Lampton School Newsletter: Week 37 2024-25
Posted on Jul 7th 2025Monday 7th July 2025
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
Welcome to our newsletter for the eleventh week of the Summer Term 2025. It’s week B, so our final year assemblies of the term are taking place with a specific focus on praise and achievement. Our heatwave uniform adaptations remain in place until further notice as another heatwave is forecast.
Another busy week is in store as our year team day trips continue with year 11 on Tuesday and year 13 on Wednesday. Year team sports days are also continuing with year 8 on Monday, year 9 on Tuesday, year 10 on Wednesday and year 11 on Thursday. My thanks to colleagues in the PE department for leading these events.
Last week saw an excellent primary transfer day and evening meeting with parents/carers and we look forward to welcoming this new cohort in September. For this year group smart phones will be banned. A reminder that for years 8-13 smart phones will be confiscated for five working days if they are seen or heard at any time on the school site. Our rule is very simple: see it, hear it, lose it.
My thanks to all those involved in last week’s superb performing arts and art and design summer showcase and the careers’ fair on Friday.
As we move towards the end of the term, our final main event is our whole school sponsored walk on Wednesday 16th July. This year our charity is SHEWISE. The weather is set to be hot again, so PE kit must be worn by all students and please ensure that your child has sun cream and plenty of water on the day.
Advanced dates for this half-term:
| 7th -10th July | Sports days |
| Wednesday 16th July | Whole school sponsored walk |
| Tuesday 22nd July | Term ends at 12.30pm |
With best wishes for the week ahead.

Safeguarding Update
In tutor time we have been raising awareness of the Netflix series, Adolescence. The show provides a powerful, and at times difficult, look at the digital pressure young people face online and the role parents, have to play in their digital wellbeing. Please click here for resources
Lost property
If your child has lost any belongings over the school year, please ask them to see Pauline at the gate in the morning or afternoon, so that she can help them look through the lost property store. During the summer holiday all lost property will be washed and donated to good causes. Please ensure that all belongings, including those bought over the summer break, are clearly labelled with your child’s name so that we can easily reunite lost items with their owners.
Student wellbeing
Please read information from the Hounslow School Nurses team about alcohol awareness.
