Lampton School Newsletter: Week 35 2024-25
Posted on Jun 23rd 2025Monday 23rd June 2025
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
Welcome to our newsletter for the ninth week of the Summer Term 2025. It’s week B, so year assemblies are taking place on the theme of ‘Pride Month’.
We are now in the trip season. Last week, there were two residential trips: Jamie’s Farm with year 10 and Prague for economics students in year 13. It was also the first of our whole school trip days with year 8 leading the way. This week, on Tuesday year 9 will be on their trip day followed by year 10 on Wednesday. My thanks to all staff who have organised and accompanied students on these personal development experiences.
Last Wednesday evening saw the annual First Give final taking place for year 10. The winning charity was SHEWISE. Congratulations to the winning team. SHEWISE is a grassroots voluntary organization dedicated to supporting the educational, economic, social development, and well-being of women and girls, with a focus on South Asian and Middle-Eastern communities. They provide holistic assistance to empower women to heal from past traumas, attain financial independence, and build lives free from violence and oppression. More details can be found at shewise.org. As is customary, the winning charity from First Give becomes our chosen charity for our whole school sponsored walk around Osterley Park which this year takes place on Wednesday 16th July. Details have been sent home separately. Our ambition is that every student attempts to get £10 of sponsorship for the walk - all of which will go to SHEWISE.
We are now entering the final throes of the public exam season with just a few papers and exam contingency day remaining. My thanks to Ms Lewis and the team of invigilators for all of their hard work in ensuring such a smooth and successful season. We now look forward to celebrating students’ success in August. The year 11 Prom takes place this Wednesday at the Riverside venue.
Advanced dates for this half-term:
| Tuesday 1st July | Primary transfer day and parents’ evening |
| Thursday 3rd July | Creative arts/art and design summer showcase |
| 7th -10th July | Sports days |
| Wednesday 16th July | Whole school sponsored walk |
| Tuesday 22nd July | Term ends at 12.30pm |
With best wishes for the week ahead,
Stephen Davis
