Lampton School Newsletter: Week 34 2024-25
Posted on Jun 16th 2025Monday 16th June 2025
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
Welcome to our newsletter for the eighth week of the Summer Term 2025. It’s Week A and our assemblies are being led by Ms Kapoor (Assistant Headteacher) on the theme of Gypsy Roma and Traveller History Month which takes place in June.
This week all parents and carers will be receiving by email a letter which outlines the school’s updated policy on mobile phones which will come into force from the start of the autumn term in September. The policy is simple and builds on our current expectations of ‘see it, hear it, lose it’. The main changes are:
- Smartphones will not be allowed for the new year 7 cohort
- Smartwatches are banned for students in ALL year groups
- Any mobile that is seen or heard on site will be confiscated for 5 working days - this includes it being kept over the weekend
- All mobile phones must be switched off – having it on silent /airplane mode is not permitted
- All mobile phones must be placed in the student’s bag and switched off when on-site at ALL times.
Ms Kapila (Deputy Headteacher) outlined this change in year assemblies last week. There are no exceptions to these rules. These protocols are clear and easy to follow. There is no need for any student to have their mobile confiscated. School is a place for learning and focusing on learning without distractions or being disturbed by mobiles.
Year team trip days start this week. The whole of year 8 will be out of school on Wednesday 18th June undertaking a wide variety of trips. My thanks to Ms. Jackson and the year team for leading this. On Wednesday we also have the annual First Give presentation event. A reminder that the winning charity from this event becomes the charity which we support for our whole school sponsored walk 16th July. My thanks to Mr McNamara and the PSHE team for leading First Give.
Today was the last whole cohort year 11 examination and Ms. Majithia as Head of Year led a farewell assembly for the year group. We look forward to celebrating the students’ success at results day in August. We are now entering the final stretch of the exam season and my thanks to Ms. Lewis and the invigilation team for all of their hard work over the last weeks.
Advanced dates for this half-term:
| Tuesday 1st July | Primary Transfer day and parents’ evening |
| Thursday 3rd July | Creative Arts/Art and Design summer showcase |
| 7th -10th July | Sports Days |
| Wednesday 16th July | Whole school sponsored walk |
| Tuesday 22nd July | Term ends at 12.30pm |
With best wishes for the week ahead.
Stephen Davis
Headteacher
Thank a Teacher Day
Just a reminder that next Wednesday, 18th June, is Thank a Teacher Day. This is an annual celebration of teachers and support staff across early years settings, schools and colleges. It’s a great initiative and a welcome opportunity to recognise the brilliant work of our superb education workforce. There are all sorts of way to get involved and resources are available here.
Five-star food hygiene rating

We are pleased to report that the school’s catering provider, Cucina IFG, has retained its five-star food hygiene rating for the kitchen at Lampton School following a routine Food Safety Agency inspection last week. This comes two years after the previous inspection which was also at five stars. Find out about the government’s rating system here.
