Lampton School Newsletter: Week 39 2025-26
Posted on Jul 13th 2026Monday 14th July
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
Welcome to our newsletter for the thirteenth, and final, week of the summer term 2026. It is Week A and whole school assemblies will be led by me and Ms Bolton (Assistant Headteacher) focusing on ‘calculated risks’ and opportunities for personal development and growth in the summer break.
The weather is set to remain warm for the remainder of the term, so uniform adaptations will remain in place.
The two main events this week are: on Wednesday 15th July our whole school sponsored walk around Osterley Park and Diversity Day on Friday 17th July. Details of both events are below. From Monday - Wednesday year 11 will be taking part in work experience. We have had a very busy few weeks with a myriad of activities and I am grateful to colleagues for arranging these and students for their active participation.
As we come to the end of term I would like to thank parents and carers for their support of the school community this year. By working in partnership, we are able to be ambitious for your children to ensure that they achieve the very best from their education and their time at Lampton. As a community we are bound together by our values of excellence, respect and integrity in order for us all to achieve the very best we can. We look forward to celebrating exam outcomes on 13th and 20th August for sixth form and year 11 respectively, and look forward to another successful year starting in September.
A reminder that school ends for all students at 12.30pm on Friday 17th July. Details of September start dates are given below.
Please see below the dates of key events happening in school this half-term:
| Wednesday 15th July | Sponsored walk |
| Friday 17th July | Last day of term. School finishes at 12.30 |
Please see below the dates of key events happening in school at the start of the next academic year:

Sponsored walk to Osterley Park and House on Wednesday 15 July 2026
We are delighted to continue our annual tradition of the whole-school sponsored walk to Osterley Park and House. This year it takes place on Wednesday 15 July. Students will be in their usual lessons until 11:30 and then will begin the walk shortly afterwards. After a pause for lunch on the field in front of Osterley House, students will make their way back to school in the afternoon.
We are walking to raise money for Steps 2 Recovery, a charity chosen by Lampton students for this year’s event. Steps 2 Recovery supports people leaving the criminal justice system with drug and alcohol dependence, to help them to build a stable, fulfilled life and avoid re-offending, homelessness and addiction. Please support us by making a donation here.
Students must wear their Lampton School PE kit, with comfortable shoes. Please ensure your child brings a refillable water bottle, a hat and sun protection. Students will not be able to buy lunch in the dining hall on this day so will need a packed lunch. Students in receipt of free school meals will receive a lunch bag.
Due to the nature of the walk, some students may return to school after 15:10 but it is not expected that any students will return any later than 15:40.
The walk route follows pavements, pathways and tracks through residential areas and the natural open spaces of Osterley Park, giving students a valuable experience in a local public space which they will have learnt more about earlier in the day. The event is fully staffed and risk assessed, in partnership with the National Trust, and we have provision in place for students requiring additional support.
Please note that, for this year only, the new year 11 year group is not taking part as they have work experience placements at this time. New year 8, new year 9, new year 10 and new year 13 will all be taking part. Please contact your child’s Head of Year if you do not wish them to take part in the walk.
We look forward to another successful walk, and to raising funds for Steps 2 Recovery.
Success for 6th form film studies students
Three A Level Film students, Inaaya, Ameer and Hannah, have been accepted onto a fully-funded 12-week summer programme called Our Happy Place where they will create an 8-episode video podcast series. The programme is run by Loveena Tandon, an award-winning BBC journalist and correspondent, and the students will be learning about podcast production and filming. The programme will be officially launched this Wednesday evening at the Houses of Parliament, where students will also have the opportunity to meet MPs and the press.
Meningococcal B vaccination programme.
From Monday, 20 July 2026, the MenB vaccine will be available through participating community pharmacies across England. The aim is to offer protection to as many eligible young people as possible before the start of the 2026/27 academic year. This programme is open to young people born between 1 Sept 2007 and 31 August 2008.

Great British Summer Savings
From 25 June to 1 September 2026, the Government is temporarily cutting VAT from 20% to 5% on children's meals in restaurants, children and family tickets to cinemas, theatres, concerts and exhibitions, and admission to a wide range of attractions. Combined with free bus travel during August for children aged 5 to 15 in England, families and young people will be able to enjoy experiences that make summer special, including visits to the kinds of cultural and educational attractions that enrich children's lives outside the classroom.
As part of this campaign, the Government has launched an attraction finder website which allows families to type in their postcode and find participating venues near them to make the most of summer savings. To use the attraction finder, please click here
Changes to supermarket school meal vouchers
School holiday supermarket vouchers will no longer be issued from September 2026. If your child attends a Hounslow school and is eligible for benefits-related Free School Meals Hounslow Council will continue to provide support over the Summer Holiday 2026. You will receive a voucher in July 2026 as normal. This will be the final voucher issued. No further school holiday vouchers will be provided after this. If you are struggling with the cost of living, advice and support continues to be available through Hounslow Council and our partner organisations.
Free breakfast offer this Summer
Morrisons and Kellogg’s have teamed up to provide free breakfasts for families during the summer holidays. From 29 June to 6 September, visitors to Morrisons Cafés can enjoy a free Kellogg’s breakfast, including a bowl of cereal and a piece of fruit, with the offer available to both children and adults. The initiative aims to help families manage increased food costs during the school break. Morrisons’ Kids Eat Free offer will also continue throughout the summer. Families can access the offer daily at participating Morrisons Cafés nationwide.
