Lampton School Newsletter: Week 37 2025-26

Monday 29th June 2026

Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

Welcome to our newsletter for the eleventh week of the summer term 2026. This week is week A and in lieu of whole school assemblies this week there will be tutor period work delivered to mark Pride Month. Whole school assemblies are not being held as the hall is being used for our performing and creative arts showcase all week, celebrating the exceptional creative talents of our students. Please support this on Thursday 2nd July from 16.00 when families are invited to attend.

Thank you for your support last week during the exceptionally hot spell of weather. This week is still warm, but more comfortable. The forecast for the week beginning 6th July is for temperatures of over 30 degrees again, so we will update you of any amendments to school hours. Our uniform adaptations i.e. no blazers or ties, remain in place for this week and next week. In school, classes in those rooms which are the hottest have had lessons re-roomed and fans are in place to support students as much as possible.

It is an exceptionally busy week in school with the following events taking place: year 11 geography field trip on 29th June; year 10 and year 11 sports days on 29th and 30th June respectively; trip day for year 10 on 2nd July and the postponed sixth form taster day on 3rd July. The ex-year 11 prom takes place tonight with the ex-year 13 one having taken place in the heat of last week, thankfully in an air-conditioned venue! My thanks to colleagues for organising and supporting all of these events and to students for their positive participation in these personal development opportunities.

As we head towards the end of term our thoughts turn to welcoming our new cohort of year 7 students on Tuesday 7th July and our annual sponsored walk around Osterley Park. Details of this year’s charity will be shared this week.

Please see below the dates of key events happening in school this half-term:

Tuesday 30th June Year 11 prom
Thursday 2nd July Creative & performing arts showcase
Tuesday 7th July Primary transfer day and evening
Wednesday 15th July Sponsored walk
Friday 17th July Last day of term. School finishes at 12.30

With best wishes for the week ahead,

Stephen Davis

Headteacher

Finding out more about how well your child is doing at school

Are you interested in finding out more about how well your child is doing at Lampton School? Parents and carers can use the MCAS portal and app to find out their child’s attendance, timetable and behaviour information. We have trialled the MCAS portal and app with a group of parents and they have reported that they have found it very helpful to know more about how well their child is doing at Lampton School. They rated the app 4.3 stars out of 5. We are now extending the use of the portal and app to parents of pupils in year 7 (new year 8). If your are a parent of a child in year 7 (new year 8) you should have received an email from 16427@bromcomcloud.com. In this there were details on how to set up your MCAS account. Please note that the link expires after 24 hours; so please set this up as soon as you can, after receiving your welcome email. If the link has expired please contact aleggett@lampton.org.uk for another link. Below is an image of what the MCAS portal looks like.

Supermarket vouchers

Previously, families received supermarket vouchers funded through the Government’s Household Support Fund. This funding has now ended, which means that school holiday supermarket vouchers will no longer be issued from September 2026.

Please read the following carefully to help you understand what this change means for your family and the support available to you.

If your child attends a Hounslow school and is eligible for benefits-related free school meals, Hounslow Council will continue to provide support over the summer holiday 2026. You will receive a voucher in July 2026 as normal. This will be the final voucher issued. No further school holiday vouchers will be provided after this.

Other support available for Hounslow residents

Although the blanket provision of vouchers is ending, there is still a range of support available:

If you are struggling with the cost of living, advice and support continues to be available through Hounslow Council and our partner organisations.
