Monday 5th January 2026

Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

Happy New Year and welcome to our newsletter for the first week of the spring term. It is week A, with whole school assemblies taking place. These are being led by Mr Bates (Deputy Headteacher) on the theme of New Year’s resolutions.

Year 12 pre-public examinations started on Monday with students being on study leave when not sitting examinations.

As we start a new term and a new calendar year it is a good time to set resolutions based on past performance. For all students, regardless of year group, a key lever for success is having excellent attendance and punctuality. The target for all students is to achieve a minimum attendance of 96%. Please support your child/children to achieve this.

Please see below for the key dates for this half-term. Please note that Friday 13th February is a remote learning day for students. They will not be required to be on-site on this day. Details of what will happen on this day will be issued shortly. Monday 23rd February is an INSET Day with school closed for all students.

Key dates for this half-term:

Tuesday 20th January Key stage 4 options evening for year 9: 16.00-17.30
