Lampton School - Week 38

Posted on Jul 4th 2022

Monday 4th July

Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

Welcome to our weekly update for the eleventh week of the Summer Term 2022. More trips and visits have taken place and more to come this week! Please ask your child/children about these opportunities, and see the school's Twitter feed for updates on trips and other events that take place in school.

I am sorry to report that our whole school sponsored walk has had to be cancelled due to filming taking place in Osterley Park and this only being confirmed towards the end of last week. We’re all hoping that we can definitely reinstate this next summer.

It’s Week B and this sees our sports awards assemblies for each year group. It’s been great to see such enthusiasm from the students who are wearing their medals with pride! A big shout out to our PE department who have supported students with their sporting endeavours, in particular with our Borough fixtures. Lampton is one of the schools which has participated in the most fixtures in the Borough this year.

With only three weeks of the term left, our thoughts are beginning to turn to the holiday. However, for the remaining time in school we will be following the curriculum right up until Friday 22nd July!

With best wishes for the week ahead.

Stephen Davis

Arrangements for new Year 7 students

Tomorrow we welcome our new cohort for September 2022 on our primary transition day. We are excited to be able to run this event for the first time since 2019, and we are keen for our new students to find out more about our expectations for how they will learn as they embark on their journey through secondary school. If your child is in Year 6, a reminder that they should attend in their primary school uniform. It is also important for all parents and carers of new Year 7 students to attend the information evening. There will be presentations from the Headteacher, and Mr Bugembe, our newly appointed Head of Year 7. Please arrive from 6.40pm for 7pm start.

An invitation to all parents and carers to our Lampton Summer Showcase featuring music and drama performances, including Lampton’s very own samba band. The event will take place on Thursday 14th July 2022, 6.30-7.30 pm, in the school’s main hall. Please bring along friends and family too - free entry! Doors open at 18.00pm
