Lampton News - Week 23

Posted on Feb 28th 2022

Monday 28th February

Dear Parents, Carers and Students,

Welcome to our weekly update for the ninth week of the Spring Term. Today our thoughts are very much with the people of Ukraine and surrounding countries and for members of our school community with connections to the region.  In our whole school assemblies for Week A next week we will be sharing information about the current situation and following this up in tutor period. Below in our safeguarding briefing for this week we have put some resources which you may find of help when discussing the issue at home.

This week sees the second round of PPEs for our Y11 students and our online Parents’ Evening for Y7 taking place on Wednesday 2nd March.

On Thursday 3rd March World Book Day takes place and there will be a number of events taking place in school for this - my thanks to Mrs Bridge for leading this.

Friday 4th March our ‘Flexible Learning Day’ takes place. School is only open for students who have been invited to attend. The rest of the school community will be learning online that day via Google Classroom.

So, as always, a very busy week ahead at Lampton!

With best wishes,

tephen Davis

Safeguarding briefing: Talking to your child about the war in Ukraine

The war in the Ukraine will no doubt be causing distress and difficulty, especially for those in the school community who may have family and friends in the region. We are aware of these issues, and will be addressing them in the next whole school assembly next week. In the meantime, we are sharing some resources with you that may help to explain to younger children about the war. As ever, if you are worried that your child or anyone else please contact safeguarding@lampton.org.uk
