Tuesday 3rd November 2026

Dear parents, carers and students,

Welcome to our newsletter for the ninth week of the autumn term 2026. It is week A with whole school assemblies taking place on the theme of remembrance led by Mr Bates (Deputy Headteacher).

This half-term sees the MyChildAtSchool (MCAS) app for parents/carers being rolled out to all year groups. Please ensure that you download this app as soon as possible as it gives you current information about your child’s attendance and behaviour at school each day. It is essential that parents/carers of students in year 9 do this as this will be the only way in which appointments for parents’ evening on 10th December can be booked.

This week, many students in key stage 3 will have received new timetables reflecting set changes as a result of the recent assessments. The next round of set changes will be in the spring term as a result of the next round of formal assessments. It is therefore important that students keep this in mind to ensure that they work their hardest to excel in these tests. Thinking ahead, students in year 9 will be preparing for their key stage 4 options next term, so taking time now to consider their subject choices is important. More details on this process will follow over the coming months.

Please take time to note the dates below for this half-term, especially year 10 who have their first round of pre-public examinations (PPEs) since starting their key stage 4 options. Also, our first subject enrichment day takes place on Thursday 12th November. Please ensure that consent forms have been completed and returned for your child/children and payment made before the day if required.

Please see below for the key dates of upcoming activities:
