Lampton School Newsletter: Week 4, 2024-25
Posted on Sep 24th 2024
Monday 23rd September 2024
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
Welcome to our newsletter for the fourth week of the Autumn Term 2024.
It’s Week B, so year assemblies are taking place. In each year group there will be a celebration of the number of achievement points achieved over the last fortnight as well as an attendance draw with the names of all students achieving 96% attendance and above. Winners will receive a £5 Amazon voucher. In tutor periods, form tutors have been discussing attendance and supporting students to be in school every day and on time. A reminder that arriving after 9:10am in the morning means that your child is marked as absent for the morning - using a ‘U’ code. ‘U’ codes count as an absence, so will mean students will have less than 100% attendance. For example, if the student has 26 present marks and 26 U marks, they will only have 50% attendance. It is therefore vital that your child arrives in school on time every single day.
Please note the following:
- Thursday 26th September is an INSET Day, so school will be closed to students in all year groups. School resumes on Friday 27th September at the usual time of Registration at 8:40am.
- Thursday 3rd October is our annual Open Evening - school closes for all students at 12:30pm that day and starts slightly later at 9:00 am on Friday 4th October. If your child is involved with this event, further details will be communicated to you separately.
A uniform reminder: white ankle socks must not be worn over tights as these are not part of our school uniform. Students doing this will be asked to remove the socks. Thank you for your support.
With best wishes for the week ahead.

Eye Health Week
Please read this information from the Hounslow Schools Nursing Team about eye health. Eye tests are free for under 16s and are useful to identify eyesight support as well as various medical issues.
Nut allergies and mustard products
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has found that some mustard products sold in the UK may have been contaminated with peanuts during the manufacturing process (full details here). The FSA strongly encourages anyone with a peanut allergy to avoid any products containing mustard. At Lampton, mustard products (mustard, mustard powder, mustard flour) are used in our catering partner Cucina’s pasta sauces, condiments, curries and sandwich fillings. These products are also used in cakes and desserts. Please ask your child to check the allergen information on display and to speak to the kitchen team if they need any reassurance. Please contact the school via enquiries@lampton.org.uk if you would like any further support with any allergies your child may have.
