At Lampton school we believe that all of our pupils are entitled to receive a broad, balanced and inspiring curriculum.
The curriculum for Years 7, 8 & 9 consists of: English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Modern Foreign Languages, Religious Studies, Computing, Design and Technology, Art, Drama, Music, Physical Education, and Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) and Citizenship.
Over the course of KS3 students have the opportunity to study a range of technology areas (Food Technology, Graphics, Resistant Materials and Textiles). In languages, all students study either French or German from Year 7 with the opportunity to pursue a second language (French, German, Spanish or Latin) from Year 8.
All students in Years 10 & 11 follow the full National Curriculum requirements of English (Language and Literature), Mathematics (including additional Statistics), Science (single award, double award, or triple sciences), Physical Education, Religious Studies, as well as PSHE and Citizenship.
All students follow 3 further option subjects from: Art, Computing, Drama, Economics, French, German, Spanish, Geography, History, Music, Media Studies, Business Studies, Design Technology, Resistant Materials, Food Technology, BTEC Engineering, GCSE ICT, Health and Social Care, and GCSE Physical Education.
Courses are based on either AS or A2 and BTEC. A levels are currently offered in: Applied Business Studies, Art, Biology, Chemistry, Design & Technology – Product Design, Economics, English Language and Literature, English Literature, French, Geography, German, Government & Politics, History, Mathematics, Media Studies, Music, Physical Education, Philosophy and Ethics, Photography, Physics, Psychology, Sociology and Spanish. Critical Thinking and the Extended Project are offered as extra AS qualifications as part of the 6th form Enrichment Programme. BTECs are offered in Business studies, ICT and Performing Arts. GCSE retakes are offered in English and Mathematics.
